Hair Removal with Scanning Technology
With the linear scanning technology, GME’s laser systems TwinScan and LinScan rely on a state-of-the-art treatment method that enables fast and effective laser hair removal. For linear scanning, the laser beam of the hair removal laser is automatically moved over the treatment area. The whole procedure is fast and can be compared to the scanning process of a photocopier. This ensures homogeneous heating of the hair roots in the treatment area.
Linear Scanning Concept
Conventional hair removal lasers rely on a laser spot that is manually moved, pulse by pulse across the treatment area. GME hair removal systems rely on a more progressive approach. Instead of manually relocating a large laser spot continuously, with linear scanning a small, high-energy laser spot is automatically moved across a large scan area. The scanning process is a matter of milliseconds. This leads to a consistent heating of the target structures, as the time for automatically repositioning the laser is shorter than the thermal relaxation time of this structures. The large scan area also requires few repositionings of the handpiece, thus ensuring shorter treatment times than conventional hair removal systems.
Key Advantages
- FAST: The large scan area requires only a few repositionings of the handpiece, enabling short treatment times (e.g. 10 minutes for complete back).
- EFFECTIVE: The high power density in the actual laser beam ensures high energy densities with short pulse durations (e.g. 40 J/cm² in 20 ms).
